Conference Welcome Reception

The Conference Welcome Reception will be held on the evening of Wednesday, 2nd May, 2018 from 5.30pm - 7:30pm at the Salamanca Arts Centre.

In response to delegate feedback from previous Conferences, this welcome reception will be quite different! You will get to know many of your colleagues from around the country – a great opportunity to build collegiality for the rest of the Conference and beyond. And for those inclined, bring your dancing feet – but don't worry all, it won't be rowdy, we promise……

Only 10 minutes walk from the Hotel Grand Chancellor and set in one of the most historic areas of Hobart, Salamanca Place is a cobblestone square in Sullivans Cove, on Hobart’s waterfront and was once the stomping ground for sailors, whalers and workmen. It is now home to a vibrant cultural and dining scene.  The welcome will also showcase some works of Tasmania’s up and coming artists and following the function, delegates have the chance to explore some of the city’s best restaurants.

2018 Awards for Excellence and MONA Tour

In 2018, delegates will be transported by ferry to the world famous MONA where we will be able to take a private tour of the gallery prior to the announcement of the 2018 CDAA Awards for Excellence.  Following the tour, drinks, canapés and two food stations will be available for guests prior to the announcement of the awards.  Delegates will be transported back to Hobart by ferry at the conclusion of the function and will arrive at approximately 10.00 pm.
